The opportunity to post bail allows people to resume their everyday lives while evidence is gathered for their trial. Understanding the importance of bail bonds can allow you to decide if they are the right option for you.

When accused of a crime, you may find yourself lacking the funds to cover the bail. Failure to post bail will keep you locked inside of a cell until your trial begins.

Bail bonds allow people to cover the cost of their bail, with the promise they will return to court on their assigned date.

A bail bond does require some form of payment. Typically, bail bond services will have you pay 10 to 20% of the total amount due upon agreeing to the terms. In addition, they will require you to put some form of collateral that can be confiscated if you choose to skip your court date, such as a car, your house, or other financial assets.
